To celebrate the second anniversary of its establishment, Shenzhen Bay Club is to hold the “The Great Weeks-2018 Shenzhen Bay Club British Culture Festival” from September 8th to 22nd, thus promoting the international exchanges and optimizing the world resources allocation. On the afternoon of September 8th, Shenzhen Bay Club kicked off the British Culture Festival by inviting distinguished guests including Ms. Karen Maddocks, the British Consul General in Guangzhou, Mr. Ralph Heimans, court painter for the British royal family, and Lady Penny Mountbatten to attend the opening ceremony of the festival as well as the following fantastic portrait culture salon.
Ms. Karen Maddocks, British Consul General in Guangzhou, stated in her speech that the UK is a great, confident, innovative and free-trade nation and always regards China, especially Shenzhen, as one of its important partners in the process of achieving the “Global Britain”. She attached great importance and expectations to the future cooperation with Shenzhen Bay Club.
Ms. Amanda Kwan, General Manager of Shenzhen Bay Club, said in her speech that the British Culture Festival is one of the important schemes of Shenzhen Bay Club aiming at facilitating international exchanges and it’s a pleasure and honor for Shenzhen Bay Club to serve as an exchange platform for member entrepreneurs and the British government.
Mr. Heimans is known for his novel rendition of the royal portraits. He captures the individual characteristics of the royal members in his painting rather than focusing only on the royal majesty and power like his predecessors. Delving into the internal emotions and experience of the subjects, he innovates the setting and theme of the portrait to create a round character.
As the “The Great Weeks- 2018 Shenzhen Bay Club British Culture Festival” unfolds, a series of exiting events are going to take place successively. Please stay tuned and join in!
